FAIR FASHION MARKET
ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

The alternative Christmas market and total experience Fair Fashion Market will be held at the Museum of World Culture during the coming weekend. Here you can find ecological and ethical fashions from West Sweden’s bold new designers, swap outfits with others, and meet designers of old clothes in a Trash-Fash workshop. All to the wonderful sounds of our DJ.

Outside the Museum the "The Market" will brighten up the winter darkness with fashion designers, entrepreneurs, art designers, artists and craftsmen.

Welcome!

Date: 8-9th December 2007 at 12.00-5.00 pm.
Free entrance!

 KNIT A BETTER WORLD!

Can knitting change the world? Now in December the seemingly harmless but rapidly growing resistance method takes centre stage at the Museum of World Culture. Knitting enthusiasts with a burning desire for change knit balaclavas for the delegates of the US senate, or their very own Gucci bags.

For the Fair Fashion Market a knitting-machine will be assembled at the Museum. The machine will knit a banner with your very own unique message. The message will be on display on the advertisement billboards in central Gothenburg in connection with the opening of the "Take Action! 83 Ways To Change The World" exhibition on 17th January, after which it will be taken down and become part of the actual exhibition, which runs until 2009 at the Museum.
OPENING OF THE SEASON
ON 17 JANUARY

Where are the boundaries? Where is home exactly? How do you feel about the fact that others do not agree with your way of thinking? January and September each year mark the simultaneous launch of all exhibitions at the Museum of World Culture. Don’t miss our season’s opening!

On 17 January 2008, three new exhibitions will be launched which are all linked to the issue: How would you like to change the world? The exhibitions are about occupying land, refusing to obey orders, dancing in occupied buildings, creating armies of clowns, starting ones own bank or sacrificing ones life for others.

Date 17th January 2008 at 6.00 pm
