Trafficking 1
NEW EXHIBITION:
HUMAN TRAFFICKING

The Museum of World Culture's new exhibition places you directly at the centre of today's worldwide human trafficking. The voices of human traffickers and their victims, international contemporary art, film, photography and personal objects mixes with facts and figures about commercial routes, markets and demand.

Human trafficking is a modern form of slavery that is closely related to economic inequality around the world. It is also a reflection of how we look at each other – our views about power, sexuality, human rights and migration.

Being aware of global human trafficking, as well as the knowledge that it is happening here and now right before our eyes, gives us a chance to do something about the situation.

In Sweden alone, human trafficking generates annual revenue of approximately 50 million euros, while between 600,000 and 4 million people are for sale around the world every year.

An evening co-sponsored by MTV EXIT (MTV's effort to combat human trafficking) for all music, dance and film lovers will take place in October.

 SEE YOU AT THE OPENING

You are invited to an exciting, extraordinary evening on Friday, 8 September starting at 4 PM. On Saturday, 9 September, you will have the chance to meet with four world-renowned artists and hear them talk about their contributions to the exhibition.

The museum's autumn programme will focus on human trafficking. If you're longing for good entertainment, you can look forward to a film and video game festival, along with a music bar arranged by the museum and MTV. If you would like to learn more about human trafficking, the museum will be hosting conferences attended by international experts on the subject.
